First day
On our first day at Crow Canyon Archeological Center, Archeologist Mr. Tyson taught us about the differences between the Archaic, Basket Maker, Pueblo I, Pueblo II, Pueblo III, and Modern Pueblo cultures. We also got to touch and observe more closely Atlatls, corn cobs, guard pots, and other containers from each time period in class today. For example, I learned that in the Archaic era, the Puebloan people would use a hearthboard and spindle stick to create fires for warmth or to cook food. In the Pueblo II era, the Puebloan people would trade turquoise beads and shells with people from Mexico.
